Prices and Insurance

We’re dedicated to making accessing private eye care as straightforward and accessible as possible.

Private medical insurance

If you have private medical insurance, then all or a significant part of your treatment may be covered by your insurer. We are approved by all major medical insurers, including AVIVA Health, AXA PPP Healthcare, AXA PPP International, Aetna Global benefits, CIGNA, CIGNA International, ProHEALTHCare, Simplyhealth, Alliance Surgical PLC, Freedom Health, The Exeter Friendly, Vitality Health (Pru Health), WPA, Healix, Health-on-line, Saga Insurance, and Norwich Union. We are not currently covered by BUPA.

Most insurance companies provide cover for consultations, diagnostic tests, treatment and certain types of eye surgery. However, there may be limits on the procedures your insurer will cover, and you may be required to pay the difference yourself.

Professor Fischer will provide you with all the information you need to request authorisation from your insurer, ahead of your treatment. Remember, your initial no-obligation virtual consultation is completely free of charge no matter which insurance you have.

Paying for your own treatment

We are very happy to see patients for private eye appointments without medical insurance, on a self-pay basis. You don’t need a referral, and you can book straight in for your free virtual consultation.

How much does private treatment cost?

The exact price of your care will depend on your specific condition and the recommended course of treatment, but as a guide you can expect to pay:

  • 10 minute virtual consultation – Free of charge
  • 30 minute face-to-face consultation in clinic – £250
  • 45 minute second opinion consultation – £350
  • Personalised diagnostics – from £250
  • Personalised treatment & surgery package – from £250*

* e.g. for minor treatment procedures
